The International Association of EMS Chiefs is a professional association of current and aspiring EMS leaders in the United States, Canada and beyond. Our association’s mission is to support, promote and advance the leadership of EMS response entities, and to advocate for the EMS profession. This mission is not possible without strong relationships and support from our members and partner in the EMS community, industry and beyond.

We believe that the solutions to the greatest challenges facing EMS today and in the future are only identified and achieved through partnerships and collective innovation.

For our 2017 Annual Leadership Summit, the IAEMSC is going to disrupt the traditional model of a conference. We invite you to be a part of something new and different, and to join us as colleagues in solving problems, promoting better care and outcomes for the patients we serve, and leading innovation in EMS. This conference model will entail providing information to attendees in advance, robust discussions with our speakers, and the capture of the intellectual products of these discussions.

The 2017 IAEMSC Annual Leadership Summit will focus on trauma care, and particularly the implementation of recommendations from the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine report A National Trauma Care System: Integrating Military and Civilian Trauma Care Systems to Achieve Zero Preventable Deaths After Injury, in the prehospital realm. Combining the collective experience and expertise of the group, we will gather insights through a five-step process, synthesizing these shared perspectives into actionable solutions.

Additionally, the Summit will include VIP tours, intimate, Chatham House Rules discussions with government leaders as well as discussions with experts on issues relevant to the modern EMS leader.

Included in our Summit is the National Academies’ report in brief and recommendations. We hope our collective efforts will save lives across the country and that you are willing to try a novel approach to problem solving and partnership with us.

Thank you for your support, partnership and friendship. On behalf of the executive officers, board of directors and members of the IAEMSC, I invite you to help us change the world

Paul Brennan

President, IAEMSC
